I know the 360 plays hi-def games off of modified dvds, but not HD DVD discs.

No plans yet, just like PS3 doesn't use the blue ray to play games, just movies.

uhhh.. duh it already palys high def. games, i have it and it comes with high def. hookups and its in my high def. tv and it plays at a resolution of 480p, 720p, or 1080p. If your tv is compatible to 1080p (which is high def.) you just switch a button on the 360 to high definition gaming, then you will be playing high def. But if yu want to play high ef. movies u have to buy an extra high def. dvd player that hooks into it for like 200 bucks. but it will still play dvds just sandard defintion, but the games do play high def. if you get the premium console with the premium hookups for high def. which the premium one comes with.
