It's a guy thing. White men act the same when its a black male with a white female. Chinese men same way. Mexican men.. same way.

It's not exactly a double standard. A lot of people have a problem with black men dating white girls too--you just see it a little more often.
That said--there are a few good reasons to date within your race, but there is nothing wrong with dating outside your race. Some of the 'problems' of interracial dating can be some of the spice that makes it so nice. Sure there are slight cultural differences--if you let learning about them be something that brings you together rather than a problem that drives you apart, you'll not only have a good relationship, but you'll grow in personal experience as well. It is one of the best ways to understand another race--start understanding a few people of that race.

It is obvious that there is a double standard when it comes to behavior and comments that are permissible for blacks versus whites. As you are probably aware the U.S Army is more ethnically diverse than most segments of American society and during my 22 year military career I witnessed many examples of these double standards. I can give examples if you like. I feel there are two sources that perpetuate this phenomenon. The first is that the victim (in this case blacks) can think and say whatever negative comments they want about the perpetrator (in this case whites) and have the right to say it. Next is the issue of white guilt and how this guilt contributes to the cycle. Shelby Steele wrote a great book that examines some of these issues that entitled; "White Guilt, How Blacks and Whites Together Destroyed the Promise of the Civil Rights Era". Perhaps you have read it. If not pick up a copy and check it out.

You know what? Everybody wants to be a critic. If you find a guy who is outside your race that treats you how you want to be treated, then forget what the critics say. In my opinion race has nothing to with it, there is always going to be some type of double standard when it comes to what we woman do. I'm african american and i've dated white men and asian men and the SOME brothers think it's wrong but at the same time, these same brothers didn't want to give the commitment i wanted. I've dated educated good looking black men, and SOME of the "sistas" have a problem because THEY didn't get him. Don't get me wrong , I think black on black love is beautiful, but ulitmately love is where you find it. It used to bother me that people would criticize me but not anymore. You can't please everybody. :)

Probably this is due to residual historical elements of slavery - when Black women were routinely raped by white slave owners.
It is said [in studies] that Black men subsconsiously are 'getting back' at the white man by coupling with his women...
Now, of course we know that many interracial couplings are concrete, loving and mutually respectful ones...but the above can give you some idea.
Forgive me if I offend anyone, but more often that not the scenario you cite in your question is more prevalent with the less exposed, less educated, lower economic scale population [both races]

A little stereotypical are we? Black men are not ALWAYS dating white women. most likely it is the Black men who do not that are upset about your dating white men. That said I feel that people should be able to date whomever that want

That's exactly what it is ....Double standards...
Yesterday a Hispanic wouldn't cut me a break at the DMV....a black male with a white woman could barley sit in his seat facing forward, so busy in my business....

Because men sometimes - due to historical background - feel that they are still superior to some degree. And therefore they have more rights than women do.

yes.. for a black man to date a white girl is a status thing.
But when a black girl is seen with a white guy the same men think that it is a reflection of slavery
