Debs. Their prices are pretty decent. Although, it depends on how close to prom you shop. My friend's prom was 2 years ago. I had a hard time finding something I liked. It was about 2 weeks before the dance (so, mid-late May) and I went to Kauffmans (now Macys) and found my dress for about $70! So take your time, look at your options and the best deals. If the dance isn't until May or June, you don't need it in March.

Honestly, check out consignment shops first. The consignment shops (NOT goodwill or anything) take high quality worn once merchandise, steam clean it and sell it for a fraction of the cost. I have 3 teen daughters who have been to proms and homecomings galore. We always do consignment shops first. I just paid $30 for a beautiful dress WITH a shawl for my daughter's Junior prom. Then, come senior year, they can get an expensive one. Think of this, you're going to wear it one time for a few hours (and, you can always take it in after you're done to a consignment shop!) If you don't like that idea then I would say Macy's, Deb, etc.

I got my senior prom dress from Hecht's. Oops, I guess they are Macy's now. Anyway, check clearance racks too, not just the brand new dresses. I ended up paying like $28 for my dress by shopping that way. Check out consignment shops too. Most formal wear only gets worn once or twice so they are almost always in really good condition. Check out bridal stores also for bridesmaid dresses.

Check out ebay. When I went to prom I spent $500 on a dress from an overpriced boutique, then I sold my dress on ebay for $130. The buyer certainly got a great deal. Looking back now I made such a big deal about my prom dress, I wish I would have looked other places, like ebay.
