Hi there,

Yes it is hot in May but not as hot as say June or July, but Wow! - the scenery is amazing once you get to discover where some great places to visit are. The beaches are incredible too but be careful of rip-tides in Cancun beaches because they can be quite strong.

The people are extremely friendly and always want to sell you things so watch out for that. It is a very safe and very friendly place in my opinion and so much culture, but never travel alone wherever you go to. The food is amazing if you like spicy foods, but they also do a range of great tasting ice creams!. Most people are in shorts and summer dresses in May so you can wear virtually anything you want and everything is cheap in this part of Mexico.

A few useful contacts if you are interested in sight-seeing are as follows so you can always call up and get some information if you want to plan your trip more thoroughly. Parque Nizuc: Paseo Kukulcan Km 25 Wet & Wild Cancun is located within this park as well as Atlantida where you can swim with the dolphins, stingrays, nurse sharks or tropical fish.

Snorkeling / Scuba Diving: Parque Nizuc is also a great place for snorkeling and had dive operators that will take show you why Cancun is one of the best places for beginner snorkelers and scuba divers. Dive operators can be found all over the Cancun hotel zone . . . but if your hotel doesn't offer a dive master, try Scuba Cancun at Km 5 or Aquaworld at Km 15.2.

Bull Fights:Paseo Kukulcan & Av. Bonampak The pre-show begins at 2:30 and includes Mexican cowboys, Mariachi band, and Flamenco dancers. The bull fighting begins at 3:30 PM Wednesdays and currently costs about $40 USD.

National Institute of Anthropology and History: Quintana Roo, Paseo Kukulcan Km 998/830305This museum, located on the ground floor of the city's convention center, features a collection of 1,000 to 1,500-year-old artifacts showcasing the Maya culture.

There is just so much you can do and you will have the best time of your life once you get there. I hope I have been able to help?.

Have a great vacation and don't forget the suntan cream!. A useful site is www.cancuntips.com so you can take a good look of all the variety of activities available in Cancun and surrounding areas.

May is a lovely month in Cancun. It is the start of the rainy season and so much of the air has been cleared of dust and the countryside has been watered nicely.

It is hot during the day middle 30's centigrade but there is a cool breeze in the evenings.

As we go thorough the summer, temperatures soar to 40's but that occurs more towards Aug/Sept. At the moment as light sweater is fine for evenings.

Don't forget your swim suit!

We have been down to Cancun in May, March, Feb and April. Our favorite time is May. The weather is best. Pools are warm then and the rainy time is low. Less spring breakers, so not as crowed and crazy. But lot of fun and beautiful.

May is the best time to travel to Cancun. Reason: prices drop, it's before the hurricane season (June 1-Nov 30) it's after spring break and before all the senior graduates are celebrating their accomplishments.

Have a great trip.
