Why is it when someone gets voted off the show, they have them sing the song that got them booted? Obviously it wasn't a good song for them so why would we want to hear it again? They should let them leave with some dignity and sing a song they actually sing well. Know what I mean?

They should ask everyone if they want to sing or not if they happen to get voted off. Or at least let everyone pick the song they would like to sing if they DO get voted off. That way the band can be ready for a song for everyone.

I agree, they sucked so bad the night before and now we have to sit through it again.
They should, instead, just have a video farewell, showing their idol journey and then say "Farewell."
I think if I lost on Idol, at that stage I'd be like, "screw u america, i'm not singing this for you again"

I honestly think this is because it is more convenient. (Or more harshly... the laziness of the show.)
The band currently has ONLY that song ready for the contestant (I really doubt they KNOW who is going to get booted off), and can whip this song out really quickly. In fact, in one of the more recent episodes, I remember someone asking only half-jokingly, "Can I sing a different song?" and Ryan said something like, "The band is ready with this song."

I think it would be a good idea if the band of American Idol was at least prepared with maybe a variety of songs so they wouldn't have to 'sing the song that kicked them off.' It must be really embarassing. Or if not, they could sing accapela.

But have you ever noticed that they sing the song BETTER the second time, when they know it's their last time in front of a huge audience? That's really inspiring. :)

I definetly agree!! Did you see Alaina last night? She was crying so much that she couldn't even sing her song...not that she can really sing anyway, but that's besides the point.
I think it's kinda mean to make them sing when they are voted off....plus, like you said, it's boring for us because obviously, they're voted off, no one wants to hear them same again.

I agree totally! Actually, I think making them sing at all is pretty awful! I mean, they just got booted off American Idol, at that moment they must feel pretty low, like their dreams are shattered. I wish they would stop doing that!

I agree! if that was me on stage I would not sing. It's sad that you got kicked off yet you still have to sing? I don't think they should even let them sing because obvious they are emotional wrecks.

I totally agree. It's silly to make them sing the song that sucked! They should give them a break.

How approximately "homestead" via Michael Buble. it incredibly is have been given a similar consumer-friendly theory, different than lots softer. Or, they might constantly re-jigger the words to "Rock famous individual" via Nicklecrack - something alongside the lines of 'hiya hiya, you ain't under no circumstances gonna be a rawk staaah!!' - god I hate that track. -T

I completely agree with you. I think they do it so they can kill more time which enables them to show more commercials which in turm makes them much more money.
