It seems very unstable. It locks up on a regular basis, followed by the usual error message, etc. Is anyone else having these problems? Or is it just my computer and I need to look to resolve this issue?

By the way, I liked the layout of IE 6 way better.

I have stopped using IE 7 after becoming fed up with its performance. I recommend downloading Mozilla Firefox - it's easy to use, it has the tab capability and I find it to work much better than Internet Explorer. It also has regular updates that don't interfere with your computer, and a mini download window that shows all the things you download... Hope this helps!!

Only issue I have had since installing IE 7 is my Windows Defender program no longer works... I think that is because the new IE 7 has features that overlap with Windows Defender. I have heard of numerous problems with it but not a major across the board issue - it may have something to do with a program you run or a piece of hardware - or a virus that IE 7 is stopping - have you done a spyware and AV scan?

Bozema, it's most likely something on your computer. Here are somt tips to make sure it is working correctly for you:

1) Go to WindowsUpdate.com and download any/all updates related to your computer - including any updates for IE7.

2) Download Windows Defender (http://www.microsoft.com/defender), update it and run a FULL scan, removing anything it finds. (NOTE: If you have any other antispyware/antimalware software, please remove them as Windows Defender will do a very fine job by itself)

3) The look of IE7 is a bit differnet, but you can customize it by right-clicking on the toolbar at the top and selecting which toolbars you want displayed and/or clicking on Customize Command bar. You can also unlike the toolbars and move them around to how you like it.

4) If you get any error messages, write them down and do a search on yahoo for a fix and/or send it to me and I can do that for you.

5) Using My Computer, go to C:\TEMP and C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\ and remove any all files contained in either folder.

6) Open My Computer, go to tools, Folder Options. Click on the Advanced Tab. Check 'show hidden and system files' and hit ok. Navigate to: C:\Documents and Settings\[your username]\Local Settings\Temp\ and remove all files from there also.

Give those a shot and you should see increased performance. Feel free to message me if you need more assistance.

slows down your workstation?? hmm wow properly i dont have that difficulty yet I even have abode windows xp possibly your workstation in simple terms sucks try uninstalling and setting up the IE7 throughout back. If that would not paintings then i choose to propose getting Mozilla Firefox at that's unfastened and that's totally shield. do no longer use the previous version of information superhighway Explorer as a results of fact it is not secure and shield, so hackers, secret agent ware, and phishing are very common, and that should of tousled your workstation, so that's recommended to get a solid anti-virus, secret agent ware scanner, and different protection courses. For Anti-virus i choose to propose Norton or AVG. you may get the AVG unfastened version, that's unfastened!

It's definately not just your computer. I'm wishing everyday that I didn't install Internet Explorer 7. Yeah, it's always something and I think it even makes everything run slower. I'm fed up with the continous errors, not to mention when I'm in the middle of doing something it flashes an error and kicks me out all together. But what do ya do?

OMG, I hate it so much. My computer "upgraded" us to 7 based on security settings, to close some problems that 6 had, I guess. I tried to delete it and go back to 6 but that never really worked. It freezes ALL THE TIME. We got so frustrated we downloaded Firefox and love it love it love it. I'd recommend downloading it and trying it, you will be surprised. We do use Explorer on occasion to run programs that require it as the platform, and we seem to manage for those. Otherwise, for regular use, we use Firefox.

Good luck!

Everyone has had problems with IE 7. I have personally deleted the whole thing and switched to Firefox, which is what IE 7 was trying unsuccessfully to copy.

I refer to Internet Explorer as Internet Exploder...lol
Many problems with explorer. On my home PC and laptop, I only use Mozilla Firefox and Opera. Opera is more secure but takes a little getting used to.
