Have all the spice you want. Indigestion is likely going to be all the side effect you have. I wanted the spicy salsa from Taco Cabana with my 1st one and the 2nd time I ate so much Taco Bell that my husband still doesn't want to eat there very often. Both of my gilrs were born with a nice head of hair. However with the 1st the indegestion was a lot less than the 2nd one and my oldest had more hair than the new one. Go figure. Now my oldest likes to eat spicy. She doesn't want tacos unless I put Taco Bell hot sauce on it for her. Anyhow, eat what you want. Enjoy being pregnant even though it gets rough in the last month it's still a really fun time.
Good luck and God bless

If you want spicy foods, eat them! I had the same cravings, and I was fine. In fact, I hated spicy foods until I was pregnant! The only side effect you may encounter is indigestion, but that is nothing new to a pregnant woman. Go ahead and eat. There may be something in the foods your body is needing. Just make sure you have some antacids near by.

No, there's no problem with spicy food. There have been studies that show that the baby can taste what the mother eats, and it prefers sweet as opposed to spicy, but all experts agree that it's best to give the baby a variety of tastes while in the womb, so that it develops a solid sense of taste.

I ate anything and everything spicy, habanero peppers (can't spell), jalapeno peppers, red hot sauce. I also craved hot food and the hotter the better. My only problem later in the pregnancy (around 7 months) it gave me bad heartburn, but my OB said I could take Tums. So I did. Both of my kids are fine.

I ate spicy food throughout both my pregnancies. On the 2nd one I experienced terrible heartburn from it so I didn't eat as much but I didn't notice it affecting either of my boys. Ironically, my 2 year old loves spicy food now.

I craved nothing but hot, hot mexican food with my last pregnancy. I tended to make things too spicy for others to eat. If it had jalepenos on it, i gobbled it. Don't worry, it won't harm the baby. Go ahead and eat it up. My daughter (now 2) eats salsa like soup!

Eat away and enjoy! Spicy foods are perfectly fine during pregnancy.

I wouldn't think there would be a problem for the baby, but you might get horrendous heartburn! I used to crave corndogs and raspberry flavored ginger ale!
