Gripe water is a herbal concoction given to babies to relieve them of gas, hiccups, and minor stomach upsets. If you use it be sure to get it without alcohol, it's better for baby. It does not help in cases of constipation. If your child is constipated often then they are not getting enough fluids, are eating too many solids, or have some other bowl problem. Try giving apple or prune juice and if that doesn't help then see a doctor as it may be more serious. Gripe water's ingredients consist of Dill, anise, and other herbs. It's use is not reccomended in some countries where gas drops are favored.
