Your betta is peaceful unless there is another betta around. Sometimes they think that other fish with flowing fins are betta's so you can't put them with anything that has flowing fins.

Your tank should be fine although I would worry more that your gouramis and angelfish will nip at him as they are both fin nippers.

in that size tank it's a possibility BUT it would be a BIG risk.

1. how powerful is your filter? if there's a hefty current blowing through a betta would struggle to swim and find his dinner in a tank that large.

2. barbs, angelfish and gouramis do not make good betta tank mates. the tiger barbs are notorious fin nippers, the angelfish can be nippy as well especially if it's a breeding pair, and gouramis come from the same family as bettas and will come to blows, the gourami is bigger and usually wins. my recent rescue was in a tank with paradise fish (a type of gourami) he had no fins left. none. he's happy in a tank alone now to regrow.

Absolutely not, in my opinion. This becomes a problem b/c some fish (especially barbs) can be fin nippers and the betta is going to be an easy, slow target. The only other idea would be to try it and watch the other fish and pull the betta if they nip at it too much.

I don't think it would be a good idea for your tank. Tiger barbs tend to be fin nippers of long-finned fish and the betta most likely would not get along with the gourami as they are close relatives. It would get along with everything else though

Just ONE won't cause you a problems.

But would suspect that soon enough you will be over-charmed by the beauty of THE fish and wanting to add more to it..

Haha.

Enjoy!

Well..yes and no..lol
years ago i worked in a petstore and we had angelfish and gouramis, catfish in a 110 gal. it was heavily planted. we put a fighing fish (betta) in there and he was fine. he was in there for a few months intill someone begged us to let him buy him. after the betta was gone, we put another in there. he got his poor fins chomped and he died. so really you have a 50/50 chance he'd be ok.

It depends on the betta's personality. I had an adult betta get along fine with other fish in the tank.

Yet I had a juvenille betta (almost adult) who was very agressive and killed a couple of my fish.

I isolated that betta for the rest of his days as punishment. LOL!

They are beautiful fish,, and YES it will be ok to add one of these to your tank. BUT remember you can only have ONE siamese fighting fish in a tank at one time. If you put TWO of them in together one will try to kill the other. I have one in my tank with a gourami and an angelfish. He has been in my tank for over a year and never been aggressive to my other fish. IN fact its my gourami that gives my siamese fighting fish a Hard time!!

despite its name the betta will be the fish picked on. because of its beautiful fins the barbs will probably nip them to shreds.sorry

nope - they live best alone and also NOT with another of their own breed.

If you buy two of the same breed, many folk place one in one container and another in the other container - facing each other...provides each with 'entertainment' and they become more active.
