Bio-diesel is already on the market in a few places in the Midwest. Most truck drivers and companies don't want to use it, because of it instability in cold weather, and the fact that it strips all the accumulated debris from the fuel system, causing some VERY expensive repairs. The bio- diesel also eats away the rubber- based fuel lines and component seals, causing some more VERY expensive repairs. Hopefully, the engineers will come up with some fixes for these problems in the near future.
