If you mean growth as in height no. Unless you start at too early of an age, then you could decrease your growth. Once you have testosterone rushing through your body(you always have it but once you enter puberty until the age of mid 20's) you can make immense muscle growth with you body and height wise too.

Yes. Lighting weights will cause a lot of smoke with metalic particles. Breathing that could cause health problems.

Try lifting the weights instead.
