I moved into a furnished apartment (a temporary work relocation) and the mattress was as hard as the tile floor! I could not sleep through the night, I was waking up stiff and sore and my arms were falling asleep!!
A coworker suggested trying a memory foam topper. I was skeptical so I got an inexpensive one from www.overstock.com and it's made a HUGE difference. The topper was worth every penny I spent - and then some.
I'm looking into buying a new mattress for my own home, since I was so happy with the memory foam topper I looked at the tempurpedic beds. The memory foam mattress isn't for me - it feels too different from what I'm used to. The only way I figured this out was to go to a mattress store and lie on the bed for several minutes. I've also tried to hunt down a hotel with memory foam beds so I could sleep on one all night, but I haven't had much luck.
The good news is that if you think that you love the mattress after trying it out in the store, you can try it at home for a certain number of days (nights) and be able to return the mattress if it isn't what you want after all.
Personally, I'm going to stick with a memory foam mattress topper on a traditional mattress.

I've just bought a memory foam plus from Benson Beds and it is amazing for comfort.
Used to suffer from a bad back and neck, after using an old spring mattress, but its gone now.
I found that the mattress retains your body heat which is great in the winter - I might be saying something different in the summer!
I would definitely not use any other form of mattress - this is the best I've ever had.
Highly recommended - go for a good one though.

I love my foam mattress but it does have a few drawbacks. They don't recommend you use a mattress pad so you must be careful about spilling anything on the bed. Also the bed isn't so good for "marital relations" you kinda sink down into the bed. and It is horrible for pregnant women- again you kinda sink down into the bed and it is hilarious to try to get out of it (especially in the last trimester)

I'm a fan of mine. I bought a fairly cheap one that was very comfortable, but also very "hot". They feel hot because air can't circulate so it traps body heat between the mattress and your body.
To cure this, I bought a cheap down comforter and placed it between the mattress and the sheets. I've had no problems since and often get complimented on how comfortable it is.

i think they're worth the money because i used to have a really bad back and since i got the memory foam mattress my back is getting better because i can't have anything too firm or too soft because it would ruin my back.

They are only good for a couple of months then they lose the ability to return to shape and you end up with a mattress with a hole shaped like you left in it

Mine want something to endure in recommendations. i think of the only time i individually led to trauma, replaced into whilst my pinky toenail incredibly tore a hollow in the path of the right sheet. Nasty cases, nasty cases...
