Wear some jeans that accentuate your "package" when you are going to be with/near him. Observe him to see if he checks you out. Adjust your package occasionally, see if he is looking. Go to a public restroom with him. See if he is interested in what you have down there. Of course, lack of interest could simply mean that he's gay, but not interested in you, which would be the same thing as being straight if you wanna date him, right? Some guys would too embarrassed/shy to check you out, which would be characterized by blushing or some other form of showing discomfort. In that case.....gay and probably interested, but maybe hard to get. As I live in Mexico where many guys are not out of the closet, but many more are gay here than up north (mamas boys with weak father figures, lol), I have a lot of experience in this area.

To truly know you would have to sleep with him. That's a bit drastic in the first instance and not usually feasible.
If you trust him at his word you could ask him.
Or, alternatively, you could set up a 24 hour surveillance on him to see if you could catch him in the act.

theres no way to 'catergorize' gays. Most guys are really femine, most are just like you and you cant tell. Never assume, because maybe they might not be and your saying that by the way they act and talk,they seem like it.
so its just better to wait till they tell u.
