Besides the social interaction with other Young Republicans or Young Democrats, what else you expect to be doing?
Demonstrating that I believe in something.
What would you want to be working towards?
A better world.
How much impact would expect to have on the way things are?
Depends on the election I am working on. Local elections (arguablly the most important elections) provide the opportunity to have the most impact.

Well, our mayor was elected at age 22. He is now 23, and doing a fine job. The new chair of the Republican Town Committee is 25.
All of these fine young men are doing a great job in their leadership roles, and I am quite proud to be a part of their team.
If young people stop their silly protests, and actually get involved at the level they should, then we could really make an impact on the way things are, but as long as we just kick and scream and have temper tantrums because we're not happy with the system, nothing will ever change.

I'm too old to join the young ones, but if they don't become extremely proactive in governing for their future, their parent's generation (us) are going to totally screw them. My hope is they will realize we are creating a debt that they will never be able to get out from under. That we are destroying any semblance of America as nation of laws and morals. That we are leaving them with a legacy of waste, gluttony and absolute disregard for our impact on future generations or the rest of the world. That we are bequeathing them an inheritance of destruction of the natural habitat, an emotional heritage of "Me first and the hell with every one else", a "generalized paranoia that "The Bad Guys" (generally read to mean people of color) are going to get us or are going to take our stuff". My hope is that those Young Ones get very proactive and take away our guns, Nukes, Suv's, excessive entitlement programs etc and and commit to save their own as#*s because their parents and grandparents are selfishly concerned only about themselves.

accurate-wingers have not in any respect study Marx, Trotsky, Lenin, etc. and performance no theory what socialism is. yet curiously you and that i both understand that liberalism is easily a bulwark to socialism. Liberalism is a accurate-wing entity that serves to prop up a rich, ruling-type elite for the period of sessions of severe social misery. ". . . nowhere have we extremely triumph over what Thorstein Veblen observed as 'the predatory section' of human progression. . . . the real purpose of socialism is exactly to conquer and advance previous the predatory part of human progression . . ." -- Albert Einstein (Why Socialism) "A liberal reform programme like the Alliance for progression is a protection-valve for capitalist injustice and exploitation - because the frontier served for launch and get away from oppression in American cities in the course of the merely accurate century. this style of programme is merely what the ruling-type will enable via way of redistribution for the period of a time of danger to the gadget as an entire - something that runs antagonistic to the present day and the inherent force to concentration wealth and political skill in ever fewer fingers. once the sense of urgency and danger fades, so also the rigidity on the protection-valve declines and the organic forces for accumulation get properly, quickly wiping out the relative positive factors that the exploited received via reform. Reforms are short-time period palliatives that could't in any respect eliminate the exploitative relationship on which capitalism is depending. progressively extra, because the oppressed in capitalist society understand the myth of liberal reform, their ruling minorities do not have any selection yet to develop repression as a thanks to stay sparkling of socialist revolution. eliminate CIA stations, US protection force missions, help Public protection missions and the 'loose' commerce-union programmes and those minorities would disappear, quicker possibly, than they themselves would imagine." -- Philip Agee, former CIA agent from his e book contained in the corporate

I joined the Young Republicans back when i was a teenager. All we did was run around and chase off coons. I didnt understand it, these people always wanted to chase coons out of their neighborhoods by burning crosses on lawns. My momma always used to just chase off the coons with a broom when they came up on the porch. She never burnt anything.
I didnt understand what they were doing and why so i gave it up and turned democrat.

Just a lot of college kids rushing stages and denying people their right to free speech when they've been invited to speak at your school.
