Sadly simplicity is not the best teacher. When everything is going well we tend to just drift through life and not pay much attention.
Think about it, what gets you attention fastest, Adversity or calm.

Great philosophical question! And it's a hard one to answer. Some would say that yes, life is hard, because in nature you always find struggle. There is a struggle between different animals, plants, etc. and everything is in conflict.
However, you could also argue that everything is NOT in conflict, that in fact, everything is in harmony, balance etc. Everything has a place and fits in and belongs where it is.
I would argue that life = change. Life is constantly evolving, life is constantly changing. And while life does usually come to some sort of balance and some sort of 'consensus' as it were, there are times and moments when life is a struggle. One portion of our world changes, or one thing in it changes and everything else has to struggle to adapt.
Life will always change; because of change things will have to readjust and a new balance has to come, and during that time, things will be hard as everything has to find a new niche.
So yes, life is supposed to be hard.

No and yes. While life has its privlidges, it has to have some downs too. It's like this poem i wrote called A size too Small. Its about how life is like a room that has two doors, and they are bothed locked. In order to find the key, you have to work. And when you find the key to one of the doors, you have to decide which one to go in and if it's the right door. That means that the key are your goals that you have to work for in order to achieve. One of the doors is bad and the other is good. And whenever you walk through a door, there are always two more doors, and the one you came through locks behind you. That means that you can't take back your decisions, and you always have a chance to make a good decision to make up for the bad, whether you take that chance or not. Then at the end of my poem it says "Your key you may find may not be the right one, It may not fit in your door at all. It could be a size to big, or maybe just a size too small." that means that you are going to make some mistakes in life, but you can still search for the right key. The whole poem is about how confusing life is, and how if you make one wrong decision, it can change your life forever, making your life more difficult than it has to be, and if you choice one really bad door, you can change completely. Well, think about that poem, and if you want to hear the whole poem, email me at SmileyDoRkY247@aim.com. but you dont have to. I hoped I helped!

Yes live is suppose to though you challenges!
It;s how we grow as humans!
caveman challenge was to get heat food so they found Fire.. i'm sure it wasn't easy for them
my personal challenge is communication and grammer and understanding things.. it's hard and constent work.. but if i want to be the best human i can be for myself then i need to face my challenges and do what i can do make it less of a challenge
only to be broad sided with another challenge for my goals in life!
it would be nice if we all could get that free hand out but i found the more we challenge ourselves the more rewarding the task at hand seems to be! when you just get stuff it's cool but not so rewarding!
hope it helps

Life is supposed to be hard, but it is hard so we can learn from our mistakes. But thing is, there is an infinite number of mistakes that can happen to you, so it is impossible to have a perfect life. And for those of you thinking about commiting suicide, you should live out your life to the fullest, with the good and bad times, I guarantee it's better than checking yourself out early.

Life isn't supposed to be anything but what it is. It's a series of ups and downs. There will be hard times, for some more than for others, but there will be good times to. Relish the good times and the hard times will feel fleeting.

It's really the way we perceive life. I think we go through difficult times because we're only human. We have flaws, errors, and make mistakes. That's OK. though. It's what makes us learn and value the experience. It teaches us to appreciate what we already have and work hard to reach our goals. It motivates us into becoming ambitious to earn what we don't have. So that after gaining what we worked hard for, we'd truly enjoy it.

Yes and No. No, in that we are often our own obstacles whether thru our inertia to follow thru, setting unrealistic goals, bench marking ourselves agst others etc.
Yes, in that it is the only way that we can appreciate life's bounty. We have a propensity to take everything for granted and it's life way of making us more aware.....

no...it seems life is so hard but actually, WE're making it hard for ourselves.
it is how content we are with our life that makes us think if it is hard or is it just me making it seem difficult?it is much of a question of what is "contentment" to us,does it mean money or luxury or mansion?or is it being happy with oneself?it is up to us if we want life difficult or easy to live.
