Hmm...I've never been accused of being on welfare, but I have been critisized for supporting it. The working poor work hours on end, earning barely enough to make ends meet. Why? Because minimum wage just isn't liveable. I don't think I'm wrong for believing that the government should HELP America's working poor cover their living costs.

I've been completely independent since my mom died when I was 18. I payed my way through college and now work as a case manager helping disabled adults. I can assure you that the claims they make on here are false. The system used to be abused, but safeguards and time limits have been put in place to assure that abuse does not occur. This is just a Republican talking point, despite the fact that there are plenty of Republicans on welfare. It does not bother me whatever I am called on here, as I don't get my self respect from narrow minded *******.

The average Welfare Recipient is a single mother with multiple children. The mother is also only on welfare for on average three months. I personally have had to deal with the process of being on welfare, and to clear any misunderstandings you are required to search for a job while on welfare.

If you are capable of working then you should not be on welfare. Cut back - eat pasta for weeks if you have to. Get a better job and pay your own way. Why should my tax dollars go to someone that does not want to better themselves - because I work 70 hours a week I get to foot your bills, that BS. Get off your butt & WORK!
