It is easy to spend someone else's money. Assume we had a fee based government offering services similar to toll roads. Where would you spend your own money? What is important to you as an individual?

We do pay for government services whether we require them or not, its called taxes. However, if we went to a pay for what you use system, most of what I pay to the government(s) would be basic infrastructure. Highways/roads, sewer/water. I use the postal service, but theoretically when I buy a stamp, I'm paying for that service anyway. Why people continue to pay to send me stuff I don't want and didn't ask for, I don't know! I've never used 911, police, or fire services but understand the need for those so wouldn't mind paying that up front rather than in taxes if that was the way things went. I don't use city/county parks and frankly, where I live, they could cut our bottom line by closing a few. I don't use public transit. I'm sure there are infinite other things I'm forgetting but generally, I'd prefer a pay for use system.

health care for all americans and alternative fuel sources. But most of all, public school funding. If my public high school had had more funding back in September of 2006, maybe Duane Morrison never would've come into my classroom and taken my friends hostage. That's where my money would go.
