I don't agree with marriage, never mind bringing incest into the equation. I saw the article too and it was rather boaksome. However, it's only our accepted notion of right and wrong that elicits these feelings. Some species of animal are incestuous and other cultures have been known to partake in it. Myself, I'd rather have my penis cut off with a circular saw and then stapled to my forehead, but to each their own.
And as an interesting aside, for any Christian zealots that may chime in later about how it's against God, then they've never read Genesis. If there was any truth in the stuff written there (which there isn't) then our original ancestors were incestuous.

Granted I don't know much about German norms but I would assume:
socially, they will be looked down upon. Morally, morals are a product of the environment so thats a little harder to judge. Do I think its right....no, imagine the poor kids involved from social stigma alone.
Legally, again I don't know about German laws, but I do know the Amish are Germanic decent and they have married within the family since the beginning.
Which brings us to religiously. Technically, religiously speaking (only) it would be considered the "right" thing to do by old religious standards. Adam and Eve had to have had some inbreeding going on to populate the planet! The Amish is germanic and religious so religiously they may have grounds.
But, I'm not still sure I believe its a good idea.

Well, to me if they truly love each other, then I guess its okay. The only bad thing about it is that they are going to have a hard time fitting into society, with the bias towards it. You know, people say its so wrong and stuff like that, but did you know that in the bible people married their siblings and cousins and the bible never said there was anything wrong with it. Also, marrying family like that was not a taboo until maybe the early 1900's. So, anyways, yea, I'd tell them to go for it; they've already had kids after all!

Well, people want to legalize gay marriage. So naturally, incest and pedophilia will be considered too. It is wrong. Scientifically, morally, whatever. a kid having have genes from the same old gene pool is unhealthy, especially after a couple of generations of incest, it gets really bad. Homosexuality was the origin of many STDs. So, I am not in favour of incest marriages either.

Morally it may be wrong, but by far the biggest problem from this is the biological issues: inbreeding causes genetic decay! Were those kids born deformed or something? I'd be surprised if they weren't! This is a dangerous precedent. Putting this kind of formula into the gene pool is frightening.

Incest is completely wrong, from any of those viewpoints. They are seriously putting their children at risk for mental retardation and a host of other illnesses and deformities. I believe God did not intend for relatives so closely related to be married, that's why we've evolved into accepting who we are and are not related to. In America, we've been raised to believe that incest is taboo, from a religious and social viewpoint. I believe the laws are there for a reason, and that they were wrong to bring children into the world. Though, I do wonder, are they full-blooded siblings or are they step-siblings? Either way, it's really frowned upon in most societies.

Absolutely not in favor. The offspring of such a union could face some problems, not the least of which would be birth defects. It's just sick, and it's called incest, which is wrong legally, morally, and on every ground I can think of.

Other than the personal feeling of it being sick and somewhat perverted, I don't see anything wrong with it. If they want to take the chance of a mongoloid child to have to pay for fine.
Your English is a lot better than some of the American's English on these boards so don't sweat it.

Well, the reason why incest is a no-no is because they don't want a brother and sister creating deformed kids. Considering that they've already created some offspring - does it really matter at this point? They've already done what the government was afraid they'd do...

SEE???? SEE???? It's not just us Southerners!!! lol
P.S. naw, that's just plain wrong....even these ol' boys down South would head out to the barn and find the nearest sheep before they'd go boppin' their sister. We're already swimming on the shallow end of gene pool as it is, don't want none of those "Hills Have Eyes" freaks runnin' around here.
