Do you take a stance on something like abortion or Global warming just because it is opposed to what the other party believes? Or do you truly think about something and move on from there? I think we may all be surprised by how many people automatically take a stance on something just because they "can't think like the other guys!!" If we all took the time to admit what is good about the other parties and what is bad about our own (nothing is perfect) I think we'd find we have a lot of common ground to work on.. what do you think?

You are exactly correct. You see the results of this daily, and the biggest contributor to this is the national media. CBS, NBC, CNN, and to an extent but not anywhere close is FOX. There is so much left wing ideology crammed down the throat's of the American people that the country has become polarized to this fashion. This is why the past 2 presidential elections have been so very close.

To be your own person and make your own decisions, you have to look at the issues from both sides. Then you have to question why they say the things they do and if they do what they say. Prime example: do people buy stock from a broker just because the broker says it a good deal? He might be selling you something that one of his other bigger clients is trying to get rid of. You should check the company out first before you buy their stock, or when the bottom falls out, its your loss.

Fox tries to balance the news, however with all of the other media's to include the new papers, there is no match to the media coverage the left gets.

There are times when all I need to do to determine the validity of an issue is to see who supports it. When people are constantly wrong on issues it is an indicator that the positions they take on other issues are likely to be wrong again. Some issues are complicated and need more research (abortion) others are a slam dunk (man made climate change and the ability of governments to intercede) A litmus test that is almost fool proof would be if the Hollywood crowd endorses it, it must be bad

I've come to my conclusions because of the questions not to oppose the other side. It appears to me the other side disagrees with me on everything while I agree with them on 1 or 2% of things.

I think we can all pretty much agree the illegal immigration problem needs to be fixed. It's a start.

We can also agree (I think) that health care needs to be fixed, at least for children.
