Actually - not to be perdantic - but it's a blue badge now & you don't have to have higher rate DLA to get one. I received mine for middle rate and it's true that you get your road fund licence paid too - if that car is SOLELY used for YOUR purpose. If your daughter had no road fund licence because of this (you still get a circular badge for your windscreen but it's filled in £0) and was stopped without you in the car, she could be fined and you could lose your blue badge. I use mine when I'm taken out by people to enable me to be parked nearby & use disabled spaces. You do have to be careful & sensible with it as it's easy to have it taken away. I've known people who have used it to "pop to the shops" - been stopped & can't prove that they are the holder of the blue badge.

I am also on DLA, and on the form when I was first awarded the allowance it reqested the registations of two cars the badge would be used on ie:- your own car and the car of a carer ( wife )or another who might have to run you about. If this is the case it would be in your best interest to contact the local agency that issued your badge inthe first place. By the way, they are blue badges now and will change from orange when it expires.

For the past 5 years the Disabled Parking Badges have been BLUE, and they cover the PERSON they were/are issued to.

My Great Aunt has got one, as she doesn't drive it is displayed in the car of whoever is driving her - so if my Mum (my Great Aunt's Niece) is driving her it is displayed in her car.

You need to apply to the Transport/Parking Department of your Local Council - they have got a team who deal with Disabled Badges, who will send you an Application Form to fill out.

You can apply for the blue badge, but make sure your daughter only uses it when your in the vehicle. Also its an offence if she park's in a disabled bay and you do not leave your vehicle. be careful as they can fine you and take the badge away...

No the badge is not issued to the car or driver but to the disabled person. As long as the disabled person is in any car the badge of that person can be used. If the disabled person is not present in the car use of the badge is illegal.

And these days its BLUE. Whether you can get one is up to the issuing authorities as it seems to vary from council to council. Some will give them out to anyone who asks , others it`s like blood from a stone ! The "badge" is for the person not the car.so you can use it in whatever , or whoever`s car you are in. It`s like AA membership, covers the person not the car.

No only issued to the person who is disabled, however if you are in her car you can use the badge................ but only if YOU are in the car.
