The only way that it costs to vote for american idol is if you text them Then the money goes to the people who created it and they decide what to do with it.

It doesn't cost if you call the toll-free number.

If you text the message, the phone company charges you for the text if that's part of your plan. That's why Alltell (or whichever phone service it is) is so heavily advertised during American Idol.

No it doesn't, it only costs if you text it and then its your cell phone provider because it just costs like $1.99 to text
