Has anyone ever asked there doctor to induce labor, such as try stripping membranes, and they actually do it for you. I am 37 weeks pregnant and was just wondering if anyone has had it done and the doctor do it when you asked.

No as far as I know they won't induce unless there a medical reason like gestational diabetes or you're overdue 41-42 weeks. They want the baby to develop inside the womb as long as possible. I was induced at 41 weeks even though I was dialated to a 3 most of of the last month. I asked him to do it earlier and he wouldn't. I feel your pain though lol the last couple weeks are the worst.

Hope all goes well in labor and delivery, congratulations!

No doctor worth practicing, or worth seeing would induce labor before 40 weeks, and without just cause.
