You know, I think this ought to be in Philosophy, but here's an answer:
"You only go around once." i.e., get as much done as you can possibly do, because you will die. Then there's the case of that actor, I can't remember his name, who committed suicide and left the note: I am leaving because I am bored.
God is the real motive of human life. Without God, everything becomes meaningless. As a Christian, I can go through life with meaning and I have a GOAL to work towards - otherwise it's just trying to please others and please myself, which leads toward violence in the end because such a thing is not possible.

There is no common denominator on this.
Each individual is different and has - for whatever reason or reasons - their own motivation to live the way they are living.
If they are not satisfied with the way they are living - for the most part in many cases - they can change it.
And if they can't - they should learn to accept it as it is.

Much of human life is dictated by built-in motivation systems.
To put it in terms of livestock, we are lead by carrots and sticks.
The carrots that encourage us to do things include pleasure, happiness, feeling good, etc.
The sticks which discourage us from doing things include pain, sadness, discomfort, etc.
The real question is: who's riding the mule?

what do you mean by "motive of human life"? Do you mean motive for humans to stay alive, or the motive for humans to live the way we do, etc...
