My husband and I have been married for nearly 3 years and I am 14 weeks pregnant after a year of trying. His younger sister has been married for over a year and started trying just a few months after the wedding. She found out she has pcos and her husband also has some kind of problem. She is EXTREMELY sensitive about this and I was the only one she talked to because she took comfort in that I was trying even longer than her. Now her younger sister is 6 months pregnant and I am 14 weeks. How would you tell her the news? I know she'll be happy for me but also very jealous.

Just tell her. You cant keep her from feeling empty inside. She will be excited, and she will be bitter. Its the taste of an empty womb.

But remind her how encouraging it is that you have been trying even longer than her, and you're finally pregnant, what hope that gives her!

You better tell her before someone else does. I can imagine how hard it must be for you, I found out I was pregnant two days after my boyfriends cousin lost her baby (at over 6 months) and it was very hard to tell her. She should be happy for you and the jealousy will soon fade.
good luck

say it in a more positive way, like "guess what, AUNTY" make it something that will make her a part of it.... if you think she would be, ask her right away to be Godmother... etc. CONGRATS and be happy, I wanted to shout it off the rooftops!!

Just tell her. If she gives you crap, tell her she shouldn't make you feel bad because you can have babies. If she keeps going on about it, then shun her.
