As long as you have the rough longitude it shouldn't make a lot of difference. You might be ascribed the wrong rising sign but you or someone close to you could probably eliminate the wrong one by just studying the rising sign the program assigns to you and the rising sign immediately after. It doesn't matter if the rising sign you think you have is the wrong one because it is quite interesting dealing with the consequences of this mistake.
If in doubt consult a qualified astrologer. Or even better get a good book on the subject. I can only think at the moment of Margaret Hone. A lot of aspects and planetary positions in the signs and Houses could also be slightly unhinged in the miscalculation (the Moon in particular shifts thru the signs v. quickly and is a powerful character indicator) Sorry I have just contradicted myself.

Ask your family members were you were born. If is Astrology, Buy a book at the store were they sell it. Try a news stand. Your Question is a little strange cause everybody know where they were born.

Isn't there somebody in your family who'd know? Or don't you have a birth certificate somewhere?
