Hi,how about a pamper day experience.Or a day at an art centre, where she can make something. To me kids have so many material things but to have a day out doing something they really enjoy doing is priceless as this will be a memory she will take with her and remember later on in her life. There is only so many watches and things you can buy.Arrange something memorable for her.My 3girls always enjoyed these kind of presents.Even a day out with such a kind sounding brother as you would be acceptable.Remember presents get stuck in cupboards, memories of great days out are stuck in your heart and mind.I'm a mom of 3grown up girls and a nan.I'm also the only girl and have 3brothers and would have loved to have spent time with them on a fun day out, even if it were just a trip to the pictures. You know your sister best, what does she like to do?whatever it is Have a great time,

Since she has an iPod, perhaps a gift certificate so she can buy songs? A watch would be nice as well, as long as you know that it's the style she would wear. You can also get National Book Tokens, which allow you to buy books in pretty much any shop. Or you could get a gift certificate for a shop she likes...
I like colouring stuff in too! Tee hee.

You should take her out for dinner at her favorite restaurant then give her 20$ or something to spend and take her to the mall, that way she can get what she wants and have you to help her decide on what is good. If you can't do that, make her a homemade card or host a party for her. If all else fails, a happy birthday wish will make her happy knowing that you care.

12 is a tough age. Technology is always appreciated by teens. If she has an IPod or an MP3, buy her some downloads. Maybe there is a new video game she would like. 12 year old girls love shopping. Get her a giftcard to her favorite clothing store and take har and a friend to the mall to spend it.

It depends on your budget but if you are thinking about watches look at Victorinox, the swiss army knife people. They make a beautiful range of watchs for girls who, well maybe aren't too girly and need watches to last. I have one my husband bought for my birthday 10 years ago and we just bought one for my youngest daughter for Christmas. They are smart and tough, but not especially cheap so you may want to look on ebay, some good deals to be had there.

give her something which is moderate not too fancy and and not too dull, at this age girls usually like things such as pendant with words such as "best daughter" best sister, a best friend, or have her name engraved in a piece of jewellery.
a designer watch is nice too preferably with a little message on the back eg to my sister on her 12th birthday from uu. or get her david beckham poster.
it might be more cheerful.

Designer watch?? I'd say no to that. Don't forget she is only 12!! How about paying for her and a friend to go to Alton towers or paying for her to have a pamper day with mum? That way you kill 2 birds with one stone. Your sisters birthday and mothers day!!

Ask her to make a list of what she really, really wants. Then pass the list around the family. Just make sure you check with them because one i got the same thing three times. That was very funny to see the look on their faces.
When my dad asked me to make a list, I felt honored that they were interested in my needs instead of buying me designer shirts when I didn't want them. And it was funny since i knew that some guys don't have a clue.
One christmas, my brother gave me a golden heart locket. I was nine, loved to irratate him, so I ran up and planted a huge kiss on his cheek. Of course he screamed, but still, I was flattered.

You should get her a art set with all of the brushes and tools you need for art. Like a diesel or try to beat around the bush and find out what it is she really want and then go out and get it for her.

I'm confused. You said she loves coloring stuff? The way you spelled "Colour", you must not be from the US. Maybe kids are different. Sounds like she is acting like a 8 y/o from the US. Most 12 y/o girls here in the states have IPODs, dress scantily clad, and do things only adults should be doing like having sex, drinking, and geting pregnant. Do you get the Maury show? Its not something us Americans are proud of. But if she is on the level you describe, then nice cloths or yes, a nice watch would be in order.
