Hostel didnt compare to Saw 3 in the brutality stakes and neither did any of the others in the trilogy. The arm, leg and twisting thing was fairly damn grim, does anything else even come close?

I have not seen Hostel, but am a fan of the Saw series. Another movie that I saw years ago that was rather brutal was a flick called 'Make Them Die Slowly.' It's a different brand of brutality than Saw, but brutal just the same.

Saw 3 is probably the most brutal film i can think of
I can think of one thats gorier though, Texas Chainsaw Massacre The Beginning
so much gore in that it was disgusting

Hostel was brutal, but can't really come close to Saw 3...I think Hostel Part 2 might outdo all of them though

I reckon Saw 3 and Hostel are a tie.. Both films had scenes which actually made me feel physically sick, especially the pig scene in saw 3.
I wouldn't want to meet the guys who thought it up..what a sick imagination.

*edit* I also thought Oldboy was pretty brutal. Not sure if it comes close though.

You know, I was going to say "Hostel" was the most brutal film I've ever seen. I did see SAW the original, but that was plenty for me, I had to stop at the first one. Did you see "The Wrong Turn"? Good God was that YUCKY. It amazes me what people are capbale of coming up with.

Good question. After I saw this movie I wondered this myself. I, as of yet, have not been able to think of a movie that was as brutal as Saw III.
