If you liked it why do you think it did not win the Best Picture?

Liking a movie does not make it eligible for an oscar nomination. It is a wonderful film, an intelligent exploration of what many young men go through when they are dedicated to their children and not their own needs. Beautifully written and real heart rending reality given by the leads and the supporting actors.
It didn't win because The Departed is a much more ambitious film that hit on all cylindars. You are asking the question because you liked "Pursuit" but you didn't see "Departed." It is a huge world out there and we, as individuals, do not matter except to those whose lives we touch in a positive way.
Bless you, my child.

I LOVED it.. Why didn't it win anything? Because the Academy is into giving Best Picture awards to either EPICS, or VIOLENT films.
How sad that a really good, decent, family film can't be acknowledged. When was the last time a great family film won a Best Picture award?

Yes I did like it....sad. What a great success story and it's true.
I also liked it because I lived in the San Francisco Bay Area for 16 years and moved away 6 years ago. I liked seeing the bay area again. Made me a little homesick.

I think that Will Smith and his son both did a great job in this movie... though it did move a little slow for me.

One of Will Smiths' most moving pitures ever!!...and for all the slow people.. the movie wasn't slow.. it was progressive. You couldn't just jump to the happy ending.

I liked it i guess. It was extremely slow moving film. Although there was great acting between Will Smith and his son.
