Put a drop of alcohol in each ear. It'll dry out the ear canal.

There are commercial products you can get at any pharmacy department. I think Auri-dry is the name of one. You just tilt your head and put a drop or 2 in the up ear and let it set a minute. Then tilt that ear down and you can feel the ear clear out. Vinegar solution as mentioned in several answers does the same thing and is cheaper, but the commercial products are all prepared and are really quite inexensive. I always use this right after swimming just as preventive even if my ears don't feel blocked.

Well, for me, the water is totally natural. Some times I forget it is even there. I just leave the water in there. Some people I swim with stick the end tip of their towel in their ear to try to pop the water bubble. Problem with this is that it could affect the ear drum, going in so deep. The ear drum is very brital, and is affected by touch and impact.

Others bang their hangs to one side, trying to get it to run out. Problem with this is that is kills brain cells. Banging the head side to side, forces the brain the move in that section. It's not the move ment that gets it, it's jerking back and forth.

I suggest that you A. leave it in there, B. Get some ear plugs or Swimmers ear drops. Or C. Tilt your head to one side until the water trickles out (Don't jerk it).

I swim competitively, and have this problem a lot.
I suggest NOT using a qtip, can sometimes make the problem worse.
Instead, try mixing white vinegar and rubbing alcohol and just put a 1-2 drops in your ear. This should clear things up.

**if you put water on your countertop, or another surface, and then drop the mixture, you can watch the water evaporate.

I know this sounds kind of strange... but it has always worked for me. To get the water out of your right ear, stand on your right foot, tilt your head to the right (putting your ear near your shoulder), hop up and down on your foot, while hopping spin in a circle and hit your left ear.... do the sdame for your left ear, except be on your left foot and tilt your head ot the left...

I know it sounds bizarre.... but ever since i was 4 years old I have been doing this and it has worked!

When I go swimming and come out, I walk a bit and try to shake off by a finger wrapped in towel or cloth. And even if it stays after that, I jump gently and all the water comes out by itself. Just remember to jump gently a few times and not very hard.

you can use white vinegar as well... u smell like a salad afterwards but it works as well if not better than rubbing alcohol. I grew up competitive swimming and when shaking my head out wasn't good enough to get the water out I went for the vinegar vs. a product such as SwimEar... you can buy that at a drug store

use ear plugs u can get them at big 5 or sports mart

or just tilt your head sideways were the water is on a towel or blanket for a few min.

Try rubbing alcohol on the end of a q-tip the alcohol should help dry up the water.

i swam for years and always had this problem. it sucks to go to sleep with it too. hop on one foot and tilt your head. after a couple of seconds youll feel it come out. np
