kobe is over rated and selfish. He has to do well with the lakers in order to be a candidate, but that wont happen.

No, I believe that the MVP is going to belong to Dirk this year. The Mavs will definitely have a winning record down the stretch and they will most likely have the best record in the NBA. Also they have made a serious improvement since last season and now look the the favorite to win it all. With that in mind I don't see Kobe, who I believe doesn't have better stats than Dirk, winning the MVP this year.

Of course. With a 20-3 run, he will have led the team into a contender status, especially going into the playoffs on a tear. He's already a candidate, but far from the favorite. With a run like that, that would be the only thing to aid him in becoming a legitimate candidate for MVP

Well if the Lakers do finish with that kind of run then yeah Kobe will be one of the main reasons for it. He will definitely be an MVP candidate but he won't win because Nash is too good a player

It depends on his play. Look, the Lakers got lost without Shaq. Kobe realized that he can't carry the Lakers to a championship without Shaq. Yes, he has changed his game but it still depends on the role players'performance because a good team record gives you a good chance to be the MVP.

Got to remember...the sponsors and the Network have a lot to say about the MVP because there is an image thing to consider. Take a look at the past MVPs...was it all based on play on the court or was it based on an image that the NBA wants to project.

nash or dirk look like frontrunners for that honor, it doesnt appear that Dallas will lose enough games to lose the best record, therefore home court thru any playoff series so they should be very tough this year...Im a big lakers fan so I hope they could but realistically they will stay about a 5-6 seed in the west and maybe get the spurs, who they would match up favorably against in the first round...

no because kobe is the bad boy of the league and no one wants him to win the coveted mvp. Steve Nash will win again because he is on a team where everyone is good and he doesnt have to do everything unlike your boy kobe.

The MVP award should go to the player who actually makes it a better team. And not to someone who is all about himself. Steve Nash all the way. Averaging 18 pts. and 12 asst.
