I depends what type of lizard. Some lizards can be taken from the wild and do fine in the wild others die. If you really must try to keep one then get a cage fully set up, and if it haseb't eaten within 2 days of you catching it, then release it. If it starts eating, then it might do okay.

a wild lizard wont be happy as a pet it has been in the wild. the ones in pet stores are captive bred most of the time chances are if you take that lizard out of its natural habitat it will die and that would be sad for the lizard. tell her it will teach you responsibility caring for a small animal go with a leopard gecko they are easy to care for and not so "ugly"

It does not freeze in Florida? clarify that to the climate here for the previous 2 nights and this evening to boot. Calling a vet may well be a waste of you funds and the vet's time. we will lose an excellent style of lizards and snakes and fish lower back this iciness, yet you already know what? there'll be extra next 3 hundred and sixty 5 days because of the fact adequate of them would have discovered heat adequate look after with the aid of all this. it particularly is the way it is going. i might positioned him someplace out of how and sheltered from the wind (have been given a compost pile? a woodpile? something like that? any vegetation that have been given lined as much as shield them from the chilly? a crawlspace under your place? laundry room?) and he will make it or he won't.

If you find a lizard outside and try to tame it as a pet, it will most likely die. An anole, the most common type of lizard you'd come across outside, will not eat if you try to make it your pet, so in the end you wind up starving it.

You may catch and keep the lizards you find around the house, most of them will eat small bugs and crickets. You will need to know the lizard (note the correct spelling) that you have caught and feed it the correct bugs. American Anoles (Anolis carolinensis) are easy as well as many of the fence lizards (Sceloporus ssp). Keep in mind that they are wild and may not like to be picked up or handled and some can and will bite. Now, getting your mom to like them... you are on your own.

Wild animals need to stay in the wild so that they can do the jobs they were created to do. And besides how would you feel if some bigger creature came and put you into a cage just so the bigger creature could have a pet?
