No, you are likely just putting pressure on the nerves. As long as you aren't cutting off circulation (which would make your arm purple) you will be fine. Try sleeping hugging a pillow

Yes you can, I know a guy who passed out drunk on the couch, laying on his arm. While it still has some blood flow and was not amputated, it is essentially useless since he can't bend it or move his fingers, the nerves and the muscle tissue were irreparably damaged. If not drunk, your body should naturally tell you to shift if there is a blood flow blockage going on too long, but as you get older it does seem that the numbness gets more noticable. I used to sleep on my left side, but now my left and right arms go numb so I have to sleep on my right side or back.
You might remember next time how you were sleeping and change your position.

I am not sure if you can, I really hope not, but I know just what you mean. Last night I woke up and couldn't feel my arm to the extent that I didn't even realize it was under me. I moved my body and heard something hit off of the wall and couldn't figure out what it was until I reached for it with my non-asleep arm and realized what I heard was my dead-asleep arm hitting off the wall. It took a good couple minutes before I could feel it agian.

You probably will feel the numbness caused due to the lack of blood flow which will eventually wake you up. I dont think you will still be asleep when the blood flow through your arm has stopped.

I don't know the answer to this, but i know when I was about 14 I woke up and couldn't move my arm or feel it, it was cold and it freaked me out, I was trying to open the door and hold me arm at the same time so I could go tell my mom and in middle of freaking out it started tingling because the blood started coming back to it. That was a relief I thought I had broke my arm.
I know blonde moment.

Happens to me all the time and I still have all my limbs. I believe it's just from pressing on a nerve. If you were cutting off the blood supply, it would be more serious (and also unlikely). Since it happens to most people at one time or another, and there haven't been any reports of people losing their arms because of it, I wouldn't worry about it.

No, your arm is still getting blood flow. It is just numb because you are putting pressure on the nerve. No danger at all.

My friend knew a person who tried to kill themself taking an OD of pills. This person managed to not die and sleep for three days. You can guess where this persons arm was for the three days. By the time the person woke up his arm was just dead tissue.

It's happened to me many times over the years. I don't think it's dangerous---the odd sensation seems to wake me up. It's mighty uncomfortable for a few minutes, though.

No....you would have to sleep for many , many days to do actual damage...It is funny to wake up with a "dead" arm..But you are in no danger of really losing it.
