Compared to what? I'll compare it to eating a lemon.

Advantages:
You can create interesting programs.
It doesn't cause a sour taste in your mouth.

Disadvantages:
It does not provide any vitamin C
it can be difficult to learn.

Advantage - Good trade off between high and low level code, better performance if coded correctly.

Disadvantage - More detail and lines of code need to be written in C++ than say C# or Java, which leads to increased development times.

pfo hits the nail on the head. C++ is very powerful but also very detail oriented. I program in a multitude of languages but, believe it or not, the one I prefer the most and use the most in everyday life is perl, an interpreter language that is terrific for writing fast code for tools and such.

i learn c++......i'm not really sure about this but if i'm not mistaken-not sleepy enough in lecture-my lecturer ever mention that c++ is good when it comes to security.......security of what? i also dunnO~
