My partner and I just booked a cruise to the Southern Caribbean on Carnival cruise lines.
This is generally a "straight" persons cruise. I am not really worried about the staff just at dinner when you are paired up with other people that you don't know.
Has anyone ever traveled Carnival with their partner?

My partner and I did that same cruise once on Carnival. We were seated at a large table that had six str8 college kids (3 girls and 3 boys) that were on their Spring break. They were all very friendly to us. As the week went on, they became more & more friendlier and asked if they could accompany us on our land excursions. The trip was great.

But it's really the luck of the draw with whom you'll be seated with for dinner. Norwegian Cruise Lines has "freestyle" seating where you just sit wherever you want every single dinner. Their cruises are great because that eliminates any awkwardness you may have to endure for the duration of your cruise.

I'm sure you can always ask for a new seating assignment if you both are unfortunately seated with a group of fundamentalist, right-winged, evangelical Christians. But I suggest you remain seated where you are, and have the intolerant guests be the ones to ask for a new seating assignment. Rosa Parks once did something similar to this. So...don't let anyone move you to the back of the bus ...or boat. Good luck and enjoy yourselves!

There are cruises for gays, you know. Perhaps you ought to have thought of this. Not that going on a straight one is going to be such a big deal, but just in case you were not feeling comfortable about this, perhaps all-gay cruise is where you should be on?

Well I'm straight, but I know it wouldn't bother me or my husband to share the dinner table with you and your partner, provided you were good company. If it bothers anybody else, let that be their problem not yours.
Enjoy the cruise.

I'd stay away from the Bahamas. I watched the Rosie special about the gay family cruise. They stopped off in the Bahamas and those people went crazy.

it will be ok. You dont have to worry about. See when couples are together for a long time they start looking like eachother so people might think that you are his cousin. and for next time try to go with Atlantis Gay Vacations. They are the best. Good Luck!!!
