It is hard to maintain your image in society, mainly because its not your natural self, its more a put on act of trying to be modest and please everyone around by playing that beautiful Host at a party or get to gether or whatever - Its alright being cool and attending to the guests with a plasted smile showing your 32 white teeth , making your smile look even great with a wide open mouth, its sexy too -but can make those nerves ache and lips crack all the time we pretend to be one in the crowd smiling away even if things are not going right yeh'.

You need to live your life and forget what others think. They are busy with their lives, and you should be busy with yours. Whatever image they have of you is what you have projected, and that should be secondary to your involvement with your own life.

If you have gained the image of a perfect mother, for ex., then you can only maintain that image if your are a perfect mother. But, if you then worry about maintaining an image of a perfect mother, then your motherhood will slip because you are more involved with your image than your mothering.

there is nothing that is going to harm it except time
and some outlandish actions and / or stupidity on your part !!!
If this "image" has been gained by way of "smoke and mirrors"
You have a very serious problem--- maintaining THIS is like the liar trying to consistantly cover themselves on what they've said and haven't said--- no matter what you do-- you just get in deeper and deeper like quicksand and the struggle will eventually kill you !!!
