If she can chew it fine, then go for it. My daughter has been eating table food, since she was 8 1/2 months old. When we use a lot of spices, I cook her's seperate so that it doesn't have so much seasoning, which can upset their stomachs.

Of course. You should give her what you eat at the table. Although you will have to prepare it differently. Meat should be very soft and pureed. veggies, like squash, yams, cooked and mashed. Here is a great site.

This site is GREAT it will dispell any myths. Such as babies can't have meat. NOT true. Your baby is 9 months old, so she is probably well on her way as far as eating solids go. IT seems that everyone who has answered your question has not educated themselves about feeding baby. You just have to prepare food differently, and obviously there are some things that baby can't eat. Please read this site it is a reliable source.

Of course, you don't even need to do pureed baby food in the first place!
My son started on solids at 7 1/2 months and started on table foods that he could finger feed himself.
As for spices, I wouldn't give like cayenne pepper or chili powder, but I would experiment with spices. One of my son's favorite foods that he started eating at about 9 months was pieces of curry lentil burgers I made. They have a really strong curry flavour but he loves them still to the day!

I have a 5 month old and we already give her rice, mashed potatoes, anything that is soft and mushy. Have you tried the Gerber graduates finger foods puffs. They come in 3 or 4 flavors some fruit some vegetable. My daughter loves them we give them to her to start to get the motion of chewing down. The only other advice is to keep trying the baby food. They are bound not to like something the first few times you give it to them so be persistent eventually they will like it. Even try pretending to take a bite yourself and see how she reacts knowing she is eating the same thing as mommy.

Oh sure! Just be sure it's nothing spicy, nothing with alcohol, and nothing you need to chew unless all her teeth are in. Be sure she can't choke, that is the most important thing.
At about that age, I have a really good tip for you. I would get canned soups or mashed food from our table, and mix it with cooked rice! This is so great. I would actually just put a bunch of it on their high chair table! They can eat it with their hands thanks to the rice! Plus you can keep the rice in the fridge, mix just about anything with it!! Such a great save. They can eat it without a spoon, so it keeps them really busy too.
Get a dog, they can help clean up the mess, lol.
Also, think of the most healthful foods you eat for baby. Mashed sweet potatoes! Mashed banana!
Beware anything that is cut like a hotdog, or the size of a sliced hotdog. Kids are reported to choking on hotdogs more than most anything else, because those slices are about the exact same size and shape as the childs esauphogus (sp?) and therefore really dangerous.

If she has teeth, yes. Start out with soft foods like mashed potatoes or small foods like peas or mac and cheese. Both of my children were eating table food by 8 months. You may end up cutting some things into smaller pieces.

My son just went for his 9 month check up and his doctor told me to start increasing table food. He doesnt' even have teeth yet but she said as long as it is soft foods, he will be able to chew it.
Here are some suggestions she gave me to feed him....
mashed potatoes
mashed beans
eggs...just the yolk
shredded chicken in small pieces
cottage cheese
yogart
mac and cheese...cut into really small pieces
She said at 9 months you should introduce protein foods.
Just make sure you closely watch your daughter when she eats so she doesn't choke but at 9 months she should be able to chew up her food...with or without teeth!!!

Yes... absolutely. Give it as a supplement to whatever baby food the 9-month old ate.
You need to get them used to grown up foods and the different tastes.
Just make sure that the food is mashed and the baby cannot choke on your food.

My son was eating table food at 7.5 months old (when he started solids). We started with everything soft and well-steamed and then little bits of meat and whatnot when he was ready. He has always fed himself.
Theres no need to not season your food, everyone needs a little salt and its good for them to get used to the way you cook. You may want to make mashed potatos with broth instead of milk for a while, though.
Just be aware that he WILL gag. Not choke, but gag. Babies gag reflux is further up on thier tounge than ours and it takes a little while to adjust, it doesn't mean theyre choking. (unless he starts turning red, of course)
Baby food is rediculous, uneeded and messy!

You are really not supposed to give baby's solid foods just yet..If the baby is still hungry; give them more milk..You can also give the baby some table food if you put it in the blender..
