Alot of call center are starting to use work at home agents for customer service jobs. Check www.careerbuilder.com. Most of the legitimate ones dont charge anything.

It really depends on what you do. I agree with some of the answers below. If you are looking to work for someone, you should not pay a thing. If you are interested in starting your own business, I really enjoy what I do. I work in the health care field. The majority of what I do is on the computer. The company offers a 401k and benefits plan. They have full and ongoing training and support as well. They are even BBB and US Chamber of Commerce members. I would be happy to share more info if you are interested.

It depends on what you are doing online. I would be cautious about companies that want money from you to work online. But, if you are starting your own business (such as selling things on Ebay), then you are going to have to invest some money to advertise or create a website, etc. This site has some helpful information about working online and also links to companies that are hiring for that type of work, if you need some leads. I started my own business and I work from home. For me, the expence was less than a dinner out. But I am building a life time of residual income.
I thought the expense was way less than the income. But you have to find something for you.
