depend on the mini disk player. some players can transfer "tracks" as data. like you would do on a mp3 player. other mini disk players don't have this function should you'll need to transfer the "track" in real time. play from the mini disk and record on the computer. get a good audio programme and a good 3.5mm jack to jack. takes time to do, but once it's done it's done. if you have a line out on your md player use that if not you'll have to use the head phone out. be care cause if this is too high then you'll get distortion.

If the mini disc is from a dvd camcorder it can be difficult. Format the disc as VR and after filming finelize the disc using the mains connection lead. It will play on a dvd recorder and it is possible to down load to editing software.
Formatted to Video Record and finelized as previous it will play on dvd recorders but very difficult to edit in a computer.
Unless you can afford the top end dvd camcorder, stick to tape. Lon.

Yeah, if your mini disk doesn't feature a USB or firewire output then the only way you can do it is by dubbing it. You have to feed the mini disc sound through line in and record it as it comes through.
