Well, there's this great site I use. Its called treasure trooper, here's a link http://www.treasuretrooper.com/171292. Basically you can go directly on the site and complete their daily survey for $.75 so you don't get loads of crap surveys e-mailed to you. They also have a list of suggested survey sites so you can maximize you earning options. there are also offers you can complete to recieve money and most offers are 100% free ones. Every month, they add about 50 new offers and there is over $2000 worth right now. You can also get money by shopping through them. You get money back just for buying stuff you'd need anyway. And it's not like you have to work constantly to just make minimum payout. If you spend most of your energy reffering people, then you have a steady source of income there. Join through my link and I'll give you some tips to make this work. e-mail me at purespeed11@yahoo.com if you have any questions. Good luck

Please dont do online surveys. I done quite a few and none of them pays. Instead i earn money online by posting and replying to discussion on forum. I found two website that does exactly that.
http://www.dormcheck.com/register.php?refer=p0lar85
http://www.mylot.com/?ref=rovelle
Let me explain how these two sites work:
Dorm Check pays you US$0.01 for every post or replies you posted and $0.012 if you post your discussion with pictures.
myLot earnings algorithm is discrete but it pays dependng on how many response you got from your discussion and also the quality of your post.
Overall i found that it is easier to earn at DormCheck than myLot. But you could try both.
Any further questions you can just post here.

I've listed most of the sites I have taken surveys through and actually been paid (or received other rewards like gift cards or CD'S) on the following webpage:
http://www.windhavenweb.com/surveys
I list how they pay you, what I like and dislike about them, whether they have an affiliate or referral program, etc. (And yes, if I say they have an affiliate program, I'm part of it, and make a commission when someone signs up through that link...I like to be up front about that).
As you're searching, here are some tips to avoid scams. Don't sign up for any survey site which asks you to pay to access the surveys. Also watch for language like "get paid for taking surveys AND SIGNING UP FOR OFFERS" if you don't want to have to sign up for stuff with other companies to get paid.
Always carefully read their terms of service and privacy policy. If in their privacy policy they say they only use aggregated info, this is GOOD SIGN they are legit. Aggregated info information that is grouped together so it can't be connected with anyones personal identification like name, e-mail, phone or address. That's what survey sites SHOULD collect. Avoid sites that say they give, rent, or sell any personal information (info that is not aggregated) to third parties (unless you really don't mind getting junk mail, telemarketing calls, and spam).
Also, never sign up for a survey through an unsolicited e-mail--since these might not even be from the site they claim to be, but could be a phishing scheme to get your information and mis-use it.
Here are two other sites which are very helpful

You would be crazy not to sign up at this site! I make regular money each month and I made $20 on my first survey. Make sure to refer your friends and co-workers because that helps boost your income!
SurveySavvy.com is unique from other companies because their patented referral program pays you an average of $2.00 for every survey your referrals complete and an average of $1.00 for every survey their referrals complete. This is cash you can earn regardless of whether or not you complete any surveys.
PS: they are also a member of the better business bureau!
To sign up, click on the following link: https://www.surveysavvy.com/ss/ss_index.php?id=2608802&action=join&lid=en-us
