Ok I need to school you n00bs ...

Addiction can be defined as .., The condition of being habitually or compulsively occupied with or or involved in something.

know that you can become addicted to anything and everything in life ... love, people, places, things, video games, and of course alcohol and drugs ... and although the word addiction often carries a negative connotation, not all addictions are bad ... the fact that alcoholism affects you physically is merely a consequence of the addiction ... heroin does little damage to the body, but I wouldn’t suggest becoming a heroin addict

In truth addiction is only a bad thing when it has negative consequences towards you or the ones you love

Unfortunately, some people just don't have any self-control.

very close, yet it (unlike alchoholism) is physically impossible to become addicted to the game, you can not inject or somehow induce the game, and the only possible way to become addicted to it is psychologically.
you can not have a physical addiction to WoW, because if that could happen, congress would have banned it from the USA before it came out.

but just to answer your question, WoW is a tie.

Alchoholism is more or less a physiacl addiction, where you can have REAL withdrawals.

WoW is not as bad as alcholism. But anything can be addicting....

I had a problem with WoW and after I quit playing it I was fine and dont plan on going back to it...I didnt want to quit I moved and didnt have it for a while. I am fine now though.

Actually I think it’s worse. Alcohol at least causes you to pass out which will let you get some sleep. I’ve seen people log into a game of WoW and not leave until they have grown a beard. And that's the WOMEN, don’t even get me started on the men…

I wouldn't put it up there with alcholism, but....

When it starts to interfere with a social life, work, sleep I start to wonder.
It is sure played a lot in my house.

We call it a virus.
