This is a good question, and one that has been troubling me for some time - although, sadly, I do not agree that he will be "crushed" by Brown. I did have high hopes of UKIP, but recent events and revelations about that group have discouraged me greatly. I do not now think that there is a good answer - possibly the least bad would be to try and brig influence on the Conservatives. This can be be attempted by joining them and working from within and by taking part in every poll and survey possible. Signing up for a polling organisation such as Yougov could be a start. But I am not optimistic.

A year ago I too would have said UKIP, but that option seems to have evaporated, and let's rule out the other possibility of some sort of reformed BNP. This only leaves a possible resurgent Liberal Party vote which seems as unlikely as ever, or a protest vote for a Monster Raving Loony or similar, a protest Conservative vote by voting conservative and then spoiling the ballot paper.
I think the Conservatives lost the next Election some time ago by not electing the only real political heavyweight they had left Ken Clarke.

unfortunately it has to be labour im not a labour supprter but cameron would be the biggest joke in this countrys history i would vote for brown(the first time ive ever voted labour in my life) just to keep cameron out of power. only the conservatives losing the next election will allow the conservatives to reclaim their own party.
