While I'm not sure I'd say it's the best place in the world, I really like Queens too. I'm amazed at all the people who think there's nothing in New York outside of Manhattan. Queens is what New York's all about--a real melting pot that's full of interesting "real" people (as opposed to the snobs who live in Manhattan). It's also got the best park in New York, the best beaches, and some of the best museums.
Since you asked about my favorite city in the whole world, though, I'll cast my vote for Madrid. It's both beautiful and exciting.

i love my hometown, ithaca, ny...the foliage is beautiful in the fall, and the waterfalls are some of the most unique physical features in all of upstate ny. plus, the town is very racially and politically diverse so everyone feels open to expressing their opinion without fear of public retribution. finally, the addition of ithaca college and cornell university boosts the student life atmosphere for local high school students as well...check us out!
