It is a sterotype that has originated over the years due to the fact that most chinese students do well in school and have excelled in math. However, I feel that the reason this became so is because the chinese culture is less permissive and values education more so than other cultures. Therefore, the children of chinese parents usually do well in school and continue on into higher levels of education. Therefore, the common public groups
people of chinese descent as brilliant and good in math! So if you do not excell in math--great--you probably have other talents that will surface (or already have surfaced)--so just be who you are and don't pay any attention to those that stereotype you! Excel in what you do well--which is what you usually really like!

A stupid stereotype, seriously. Just becoz a lot of (so NOT all) Chinese ppl are soo damn good at maths and physics ,science etc etc does NOT mean that you are, or anyone else.
Its like saying that all Jews are rich or all white ppl cant dance, or that Spanish and Italian men are hot studs in bed..which is not true--statistics say so, it's a myth.

such is the nature of stereotypes, i will admit that i have yet to meet a chinese that didn't take some amount of schooling in accounting. i can't stand math either that's why god created calculators i'm also better with words then anything else.... well for the most part anyway

I think Chinese people are really intelligent and I heard theres 500 letters in their alphabet as well so i think they get on well with figures...
