Much is articulated among conservatives of how bias the media is, that, the media is fundamentally liberal, and, as such, harms our country.

Putin of Russia felt the same way, so, he had the government buy the major media outlets and now the messages are patriotic and uncritical of the government. (To the uninformed, Russia had a very vibrant and critical media from about 1995 - 2004).

What do you want, and, don't say unbiased reporting. Fact is, if we disagree with someone, WE ALL think it is biased. What say you?

Bill Clinton would be surprised to learn that the dems control the media. He was iviscerated by the media.

Need I remind you who is pushing for the so-called "Fairness Doctrine"? We conservatives are not the ones trying to tell broadcasters what they should air in order to avoid hurting our tender feelings.

It's not just the conservatives. Every "entity" with a cause and view wants to skew opinion their way when it comes to the media. It's human nature again. But the problem arises when the "owner" either wants to stir the pot , bias opinion or just
cut you out all together. You forget that the media has an agenda, sell more papers or get more viewers." The one I have a problem with is "they" keep saying sex , violence, blood guts and gore are what people want. I know the stats... People say they don't but they really do blah, blah ,blah.... Most people I know want to read or hear something positive. All this doom the media is pushing on us. I even notice the religious TV shows are getting more into doom and gloom.

No, we don't want state run media. What we do want is an objective media. Currently most of the media tilts to the left (CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN, most newspapers) and a few tilt right (FoxNEWS, Rush, Weekly Standard). What we want is for someone to report the news without injecting opinion or slanting it or worse making stuff up to meet a political agenda (Dan Rather I'm looking in your direction).

Maybe you don't get out much. The fact that Conservatives rightly point out the liberal media bias of the major networks and large city print media does not mean we call for government intervention. The opposite is true. Dennis Kusinch a Democrat congressman is calling for the re institution of the fairness doctrine that would in effect give the government power over the radio airwaves and impose a standard that would call for equal time for opposing points of view on radio stations that air Conservative talk radio. It seems instructional that I can always tell what liberals want just be seeing what they accuse Conservatives of doing. At no time would Conservatives look to state censorship of information, at all times will we point out the agenda of those who would hurt America

It all depends on your ultimate goal... it worked quite well for the Third Reich...just ask Goebbels. Todays media spouts a line, a lifestyle that ignores and would if they could totally eliminate self sufficiency and responsibility. The few honest journalists that go against the tide are simply discredited. It has been that way since they chiseled the news into stone tablets.

Absolutely not. I would however like the media to be more a reporter of facts and not the bias we see today. With all the whining the liberals do in regards to the only conservative news outlet, it would appear to me that the liberals however would like to have total control of the media. Just an observation.

It already is . Try this one evening .Sit down with the remote control and flip from ABC to CBS to NBC to CNN to FOX and see if the same news is not reported on all those networks at the same time in the same order with the same pictures . You will be amazed . Imagine in a free society all the networks reporting the same stories and only differing on the human interest stories slightly .

The question is silly and hypocritical in and of itself.

First of CNN is biased and liberal and Bush hating, just like Fox is the opposite!

Republicans gripe about CNN and the Hollywooder's, and Democrat's gripe about Fox News.

Democrats are the first ones to always say Republicans believe in free speech as long as you agree with them, when griping about Fox News is absolute proof that Democrats are just as big of hypocrites.

You miss the whole point of the media, the media's job is to report all things worthy of reporting.

Not interject their opinions or political views on the public.

I would like a media that is as objective as possible, and constantly trying to ferret out corruption in our government without making it up.

I would also like "news" programs like 60 Minutes, 20/20, and the Today Show, among others, to admit their bias and not try to pass themselves off as reputable news sources. At least Rush and Hannity openly admit they are conservative and don't claim to be unbiased.
