There are Lots of Minority Coaches in Both College and Pro Football, just not alot of HEAD Coaches. Part of that issue is that old school college boards of directors don't want to take a chance on an African American or Latin American Head coach, not because they won't hire him, but because if they are unsuccessful they will have to fire him and get someone else.
All Coaches face a great deal of Pressure to be successful, it's the nature of the beast. But it's very hard to fire someone once u hire them...
Jesse Jackson tries to do the right thing....but he doesn't know the first thing about what it takes to be a successful Football coach...Let him spend 1 game on the sidelines with my Head coach(who happens to be African American!) and he will quit and run home to momma....

I agree that there should be less of a fuss made about these sorts of things. Same thing with the Super Bowl. It is nice that Dungy and Smith were the first black coaches in a SB, but honestly they should have talked about what good coaches there were, not what good BLACK coaches there were (also that both were very good people off the field, or that they're good friends).

The solution should be have lots of rich black people buy sports teams then hire blacks then there will be plenty of blacks coaching. A few years ago the tv show Jeopardy! faced the same issue people saying the producers are racist because there werent too many black people on the show. Alex Trebek said it well when he said "the reason theres few blacks on the show is not many apply to be on the show"

Jesse Jackson needs to get a job. He creates racial situations that don't exist simply because if he didn't, he would have no place in life and no TV or media coverage. Its time the black community put a stop to his racist bull.

no it doesnt matter because we should be in a day and age that doesnt see color. to broadcast that tony dungy is the first blak coach to win the superbowl is more of a told you so to the rascists than an accomplishment for african americans. i say congratulations to tony dungy for the win and congratulations for breaking down the doors maybe now white rascists wont be so skeptical about a bleck person in power.

If a man has the crudentials to do the job, then give him a shot. Black, White, Yellow, Red or Green. It doesn't matter.
Jesse Jackson needs to keep his mouth shut. He keeps this racial flag flying higher than anyone

yes, considering that in Division 1A college football there are only 6 black coaches out of 119 schools, and that the vast majority of former 1A players are black, there is clearly a problem

NO IT DOESN'T MATTER, WE NEED TO STOP DIVIDING EVERYTHING UP, BLACK, WHITE, MEXICAN CHINESE JAPANESE WHO THE HELL CARES. YOU WANT TO STOP RACISM AND HATE CRIME THEN STOP MAKING A BIG DEAL OUT OF A BLACK COACH WINNING A SUPER BOWL OR A BLACK ACTOR WINNING A OSCAR. THEY DIDN'T NOT WIN BECAUSE THERE BLACK ITS BECAUSE THEY WEREN'T GOOD ENOUGH. FOR EXAMPLE, IF THERE WERE A W.E.T WHITE ENTERTAINMENT **** WOULD HIT THE FAN. AND IT WOULD BE SHUT DOWN IMMEDIATELY. SO WHY SHOULD THERE BE A B.E.T. ONCE AGAIN YOUR MAKING A T.V. CHANNEL THAT IS FOR BLACKS ONLY. NOT SAYING BET ISN'T COOL I WATCH IT THAT'S MY TYPE OF MUSIC. BUT THAT'S A FORM OF SEGREGATION. YOU SAY YOU WANT PEACE AND WANT TO STOP RACISM THEN STOP THE SEGREGATION. WHY DOES IT ALWAYS HAVE TO BE ABOUT BLACKS DOING THIS AND WHITES TO THAT. WHY CANT IT JUST BE THIS **GUY**DID THAT.
