Not if the change is a critical illness.

My view is that without change things cannot get better! We need to embrace change as best we can. Not all change is good however, but there are times when we have no say in things. Life can be tough even cruel at times. We need to learn to deal with these circumstances from a young age in order to be strong independent adults. My Mother taught us what ever life throws at you that does not break you makes you stronger. I believe now that she was right.

Old saying
'What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger'

Managed change will add experiences and enable people to grow
stronger mentally. Chaos on the other hand can destroy you. If you survive it, you promise yourself you'll never let it happen again. So it can inhibit you if it makes you over cautious.

You could view that as making you weaker.

Generally change is good for us in my view, as it challenges us and makes us think about what is happening around us. Keeping alert keeps you alive, boredom kills sometimes literally.

When we get bored we do silly things like using our mobiles to txt will driving. We think we can do this because we do not expect any thing to change, when it does we are not alert to it quickly enough.

Change is good at work too, how many times have you got so bored doing the same task day after day?

Change, they also say, is as good as a rest. And I agree.

With change, you learn new things...about the world around you and about yourself. You need to take steps to adapt, and through that, you become stronger. Even through critical illness, as was already posted, you gain inner strength. I have completely changed my life twice, and each time, I've become stronger and more interesting and more interested in the world around me. I gained new friends, learned new skills and had a better understanding of people.

Show me a person who has never experienced major change, and I'll show you a person who is stagnant.

On the whole I would agree - change shakes you out of the routines of your daily life and makes you more pro-active, dealing with the unexpected or unusual would normally make us stronger people as we would become more resilient and independent

Change does not make you stronger, but adapting to it does.
