The criminal himself was granted immunity and free medical care apparently. The agents were imprisoned. One of them has already been beaten by other criminals while in prison. I want to understand how this can be happening in our nation. Who is the "judge" who did this? He needs to be prosecuted. He probably has recieved a pay off. What can I do? We need a national outrage over this!

You sure do need more information on the incident since apparently all you know is the headline. Two Border Patrol Officers (not agents) shot an unarmed man in the back that was fleeing. They did not report the incident (the shooting part) and then cleansed the crime scene. Because they cleansed the crime scene there was no evidence to prosecute the drug smuggler. Then they lied to investigators about the shooting. The US Attorney's Office granted the smuggler immunity because they couldn't prosecute him anyways. I'm not on the side of the drug smuggler, but we do not people like that enforcing our laws either.

This particular thing is only one incident in an ongoing Federal effort to kick the borders down between Texas and Mexico !!! It is a concerted effort and Very Real !! JUST A WEEK AGO there was a ruling made that past total immunity of border checkpoint searches to over 100 Mexican trucking companies who will no longer be required to stop for searches at the border !! NOW WHAT DO YOU THINK THESE COMPANIES WILL BE HAULING INTO THE COUNTRY somberros ???
They are loosing the border guards by the hundreds because --- and the ones that are leaving will tell you this--- they have no support for the work they are trying to do--- from the very people who have them hired to do the job--- the Federal Government !!!

I am in agreement w/you 100%
Especially since the guy has already been positivley ID' since that incident to a more recent incident as a 100% drug runner.
It is his JOB working as a drug runner with the drug cartel.... and he is suing us??
How much more can we take- Just like Abraham Lincoln said, "America will fall from within."
This is almost like a last straw....
Our border patrol protects us from drug smugglers and illegals crossing the border... and we imprison these guys who were doing their job? What will this do to other Border Patrol officers well being... will they all be put in prison for doing their job protecting us Americans??
Pardon them now Prseident George Bush... I voted for you...
and am sreiously beginning to wonder 'why?'.

I agree, we do need outrage over this. When did we start granting immunity to drug smugglers and start imprisoning the agents trying to uphold the law? I think this is despicable.

Well, most people love to see cops get in trouble. Our motto is "hate us until you need us".
There is a campaign to try and get them freed, which is great!
