Why do the characters in Naruto look American and not Japanese (exception being Rock Lee/Might Guy) (TenTen is Chinese) Saukra even mentioned she would never date such a unique guy (referring to Lee).

Please, our world is racially diverse, it is more interesting with the imaginative hair colors and different racial mix, having blonde hair, white hair, green eyes, blue eyes in Naruto reflects the truth about genetics in our world. So what if it is Caucasian and asian mix or African in an anime? Some anime, like Excel saga, even contain a tanned Brazilian character who speak spanish on the show! Others like Ranma have a Hawaiian school principle, some have black people, like in Animatrix. Instead of saying Americans, a better word would be racially different.

Our world contains people of different race, and it's fun because nobody looked alike, so neither should any in Naruto. Masashim Kishimoto is really creative.

Sakura's pink color reflect her namesake, the pink Sakura blossoms in spring time.

A lot of Japanese animation characters look like white people. Some of them are even about places outside of Japan. If Disney can do Mulan, why can't the Japanese do whites?
