Goergia is very beautiful, and Savanah is probably your best pick if Goergia is on your mind...But, from what you saw on the news about the devestation with Tornados, maybe you should reconsider....All of the southeastern states can get some brutal weather..If I were to pick, I think colorado would be my pick...Its cold in the winter, but the beauty would out rule the cold..I would pick cold over a Tornado any day...

My husband and I have lived all over the country (Alabama, Texas, Florida, California, Nebraska, Virginia, Illinois, S. Carolina, New Mexico). We moved to Nashville, TN about 8 years ago and it is by far our favorite place to live. We have 4 seasons, but none are extreme. The people are very friendly. You can find anything you want to do here...from opera to country western and every other type of entertainment. We have nationally recognized football, basketball, and hockey. We have some of the best universities in the country. There is no state income tax. The countryside is beautiful.
I'd encourage you to give it a look.

Central Texas. I moved from San Diego, CA 14 years ago and have never regretted it. Reasonable cost of living, no state taxes, friendly people, no traffic (unless you live in one of the major hub cities like Houston, Dallas or Austin). The downside: hot summers - they can be brutal, but you do adjust to them and there is A/C! San Diego is beautiful and the weather is pleasant year round, but you pay an awful lot for weather. Compare prices of homes! When I moved my annual salary went down, but my money went farther so I am actually better off.
