As I am a new player how can I use "Camping" as a strategy in Starcraft? I usually play as Terran.

I am a newbie I have never gone up the tech tree that high :(.

siege tanks on hills or Platues(sp) near a choke point if there is one. or along paths the opposing person will walk. and have a few of the scvs there to repair.

ok first of all its not called camping - its called turtling
second, dont turtle cuz trust me its rly annoying when a noob turtlets - it just delays the game since the turtler has no way to win
third, if u turtle ur neva gona get better and ppl will just call u noob
if ur a noob and u wana get better, 1v1 a comp, then when u can beat that easily, 1v2 comps (2v3comps if u cant handle 1v2)
then just make 1v1 noob games
if u realy are lost but wana improve, watch some replays of pros (see wat they do)
